Presentation/Discussion on the implementation of the Restorative Talking Circles in schools throughout the San Juan School District in order to reduce suspensions, expulsions, and chronic absenteeism. San Juan Schools in collaboration with the Navajo Nation Peacemaking program has implemented Restorative Justice Talking Circles. Attendees will learn about restorative practices and talking circles used to build trust, decrease discipline and increase attendance in the educational setting.
